Number 6-Boo Davis "Skullfucked Quilt"

Over the past few months i seem to have conjured up a slight fascination with skulls or the symbol of the skull, I'm drawn to the myths and the balance of life and death that it symbolises. This quilt by Boo Davis caught my attention as it captures the essence of the skull as a symbol, the black background portrays to me the void of death and the colours on the skull convey the pleasures and wonders of life. I think its a beautifully crafted piece and really speaks to me as a piece of art and not just a run of the mill quilt.
